Whether you plan to spend a quiet evening at home or the night out, it is time to think about the New Year's Eve/Day activities.  It's time to make a plan, a list, a shopping trip to the grocery store.  If you're celebrating at home then plan the menus for both days.  Start the New Year off with a bang by having a big breakfast or brunch.

I enjoy starting the New Year with a plan!  It's fun to create an attitude of expectation with your children for the coming year.  New Year's resolutions can be followed through - you can find success and not defeat.  Perhaps you plan to start an exercise plan or start eating healthy  this year, or maybe this is the year that you will get out of debt, cut up the credit cards or pay off the mortgage.  Without a plan there is no hope for change so let's get fired up for a GREAT 2010!

This would be a great year to get organized in the kitchen; planning meals and menus ahead and taking some of the stress out of mealtimes.  Spend less time eating out and more time around the table as a family - don't forget that Dad's do make a difference.  Your family will benefit from regular meals together each week.  According to a CASA spokesperson,  “The emotional and social benefits that come from family dinners are priceless. We know that teens who have frequent family dinners are likelier to get A’s and B’s in school and have excellent relationships with their parents. Having dinner as a family is one of the easiest ways to create routine opportunities for parental engagement and communication, two keys to raising drug-free children.”  Start this year, 2010!

MealEssence is here to help you plan meals and make it easier to enjoy dinner each day.  We have an interactive shopping list that you can customize to your grocery store layout.  You can delete and edit items so that when you grocery shop it takes less time and effort.  Register now for your 30 day free trial and start the year off right!
