Preparations
| 1 | Crumble raw meat into water in a large stock pot or Dutch oven. |
| 2 | Add onions and garlic and all remaining ingredients excluding cheese and mix well. Bring to a boil; then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally. |
| 3 | Remove bay leaves before serving.

| 4 | Ladle chili into bowls and top each serving with shredded cheese. |
| 5 | Note: To serve Cincinnati style, ladle the chili over cooked spaghetti noodles and top with cheese. |
