Sugar hint!


Just a teaspoon full of sugar can enhance the flavor and preserve the shape of your vegetables dishes.  Sugar acts as the glue between the cells in a plant and keeps them from breaking down.  The same is true for beans - if you cook beans without sugar they will become mush in about 4 hours or so but baked beans can be cook for days without losing their shape.  Why?  Sugar!
