Beef and Brats

  • 2 cup noodles
  • 1 can tomatoes diced with garlic and spices
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon thyme dried
  • 2 tablespoon tapioca quick cooking
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 4 ounce bratwurst
  • 1 pound beef round steak boneless
  • 1 medium onion


    1. Trim fat from beef and cut beef into 4 serving size pieces. Cut brats into 3/4-inch pieces.
    2. In a large skillet brown beef and bratwurst on all sides in hot oil. Drain off fat.
    3. In a 3 1/2 or 4 quart crock pot place onion. Sprinkle with tapioca, thyme, salt, and pepper. Pour undrained tomatoes over onion in crock pot.   Add beef and bratwurst.
    4. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours. Serve with cooked noodles or rice.
