Sour Cream Pound Cake

Pound cake


  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 count eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter


    1. Allow ingredients to come to room temperature before preparing cake. 30 to 45 minutes on the countertop works best.
    2. Grease and flour baking pan. 9x5x3 pan is best for single batch but you can make bigger batches and use larger pans.
    3. Combine dry ingredients and set aside.
    4. Beat butter for about 1 minute and then add sugar slowly. Beat for 10 minutes until it becomes light and fluffy. Add vanilla.
    5. Add eggs one at a time, beating about 1 minute after each.
    6. Add dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream till all mixtures are combined.
    7. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 325 for about an hour checking often after 50 minutes. Wooden toothpick should come out not overbake.
