Chocolate Cream Pie

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoon sugar powdered
  • 3 count egg yolks
  • 2 cup whipping cream
  • 2 ounce chocolate unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 count pie shell 9 inch
  • 1 cup sugar


    1. Begin by cooking milk over low heat almost to the point of boiling - do not bring to full boil. Add chocolate and stir until completely melted. Set aside.
    2. Combine sugar, flour and salt; slowly add chocolate and milk above. Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils. Cook for 2 minutes and remove from heat.
    3. In a small bowl slightly beat egg yolks and add a small amount of hot mixture above; then add yolks to mixture above and stir. Cook for one minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add 1/2 t. vanilla and butter.
    4. Add chocolate filling to pie shell, spreading evenly.
    5. In a large mixing bowl, beat whipping cream until peaks form. You may add 2 T. of powdered sugar and 1 t. vanilla. Pipe or spread whipping cream over pie when it has completely cooled. Chill until ready to serve.
