Rolled Dumplings

  • 2 cup cooked chicken breasts are best
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 cup chicken broth seasoned to taste
  • 3 tablespoon butter


    1. Combine dry ingredients, set aside.  Cut butter into mixture with a pastry cutter and add milk; forming a ball like pie dough.
    2. Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut into strips.
    3. Cut again to form squares.
    4. Drop into hot chicken broth (rolling boil) one at a time so they don't stick together.
    5. When dumplings begin to return to top of broth, lower temperature to medium and cook 30 minutes.
    6. Add cooked chicken and serve.
