Upside Down Apple Pie

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 count pie crust
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 6 cup apples
  • 1/2 cup nuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar


    1. In a large mixing bowl combine the first 5 ingredients. Making sure apples are coated well.
    2. In another bowl, mix nuts, brown sugar, and butter. Place in the bottom of a 9" pie pan, and place 1 prepared pie crust over mixture.
    3. Put apple mixture on top of crust and cover with 2nd crust that has been slit in 3 places. Seal edges and cover edges with foil.
    4. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Then lower the oven temp to 375 and continue cooking for about 25 minutes. Immediately turn pie upside down on large cake plate.
